E3 CaseLab: Critical Thinking in Sports Dietetics

Starting in January 2026, join a select group of sports dietitians for a 6 month case study based learning experience designed to sharpen critical thinking, deepen understanding of the 2021 Revised Standards of Practice in Sports Nutrition (SOP/SOPP) document, and strengthen the ability to translate research into practical applications.

SPACE

WHEN AND WHERE:

  • Dates: Third Tuesday of each month, January - June 2026
  • Time:  6:30-8:00 pm Central Time
  • Format: Live Virtual Meetings via Zoom

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Before each session: Receive a curated list of references to review, and with that information you’ll complete an athlete scenario using a case study template.  You will then upload your completed case study homework onto the designated Basecamp platform prior to the monthly meeting.
  • During the session: An expert in the field will walk through the case study, sharing insights they have learned from years of professional experience. An additional focus will include how the 2021 Revised SOP/SOPP document was utilized in practice.
  • Open discussion with Q&A: Ask questions, share your interpretations and critical thinking from your case study assignment.
  • Post-session growth and reflection: After the meeting, record your key insights, what you would do differently, and how you will apply this knowledge in your practice.  Re-upload these updates onto Basecamp.
