Webinars are among several other benefits to members. Webinars are available to SHPN members for free, Academy members for $24.00, and non-members $54.00. All webinars can be purchased in the eatrightStore.

Most webinars offer CPE credits. DPG/MIGs are being integrated with the Academy’s Learning Management System (LMS) that supports easy access to webinar recordings, quizzes, and CPEU certificates. Integrating with the LMS allows SHPN members to have one-stop access to their CPE history. Members will find CPE certificates for any Academy CPE items including DPG/MIG items within the LMS making it easier to track history and find certificates. Instructions can be found on CPEU Quizzes.

If there are no CPE credits available, the recording and handouts will be sent through email.

Communicating With Conviction

Date: December 20
2:00-3:30 pm (Central time)

Effective and engaging communication is the key to impactful education. The internet, print media and television can be rife with misinformation, scare tactics and underrepresentation when it comes to nutrition communications. Registered dietitians should be the media go-to for nutrition-related topics, yet we are not always the messenger.

Media training can help RDNs develop communication strategies that resonate with relevance, create inclusive messages that meet clients and consumers where they are, showcase the science with sizzle and gain comfort in addressing tough topics.

CPEU: 1.5
CPE Level: 2
Performance Indicators: 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.4, 2.1.5

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify strategies to communicate science-based information while combatting misinformation
  2. Apply effective pitching and concise message mapping concepts across multiple forms of communication
  3. Construct inclusive messaging based on culture, budget, culinary ability and nutrition knowledge
