E3 Sports Nutrition Mentoring Program Team

Kate Davis MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

Program Manager

Kate is a registered dietitian nutritionist who is board-certified as a specialist in sports nutrition. She has owned RDKate Sports Nutrition for over 11 years and has two other sports dietitians working for her. She works with athletes and athletic teams both in-person and via Zoom across the United States. Kate has previously consulted with middle, high school, NCAA Division I, II & III, NJCAA, Olympic, Paralympic, NFL, NBA G-League and NBA athletes and is the Editor-in-Chief of the online Sports Nutrition Care Manual. She has been quoted in media outlets such as Chicago Athlete, Competitive Runner and Runner’s World magazines. Linda Samuels, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

Past Program Manager

Linda is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, with over 15 years of experience in the sports and human performance practice area.  Past positions of leadership, and as a consultant sports dietitian include:

  • 2 years as Director of Sports and Human Performance subunit of SCAN

  • 14 years in various leadership roles in SCAN and SHPN, most recently as Director of Career Advancement of SHPN

  • Project Manager and Mentor for Gatorade Sports Fueling Project in 2014-2015 and 2022-2023

  • Expert Review Panel of CSSDs for the recently published Revised Sports and Human Performance Nutrition Standards of Practice/Standards of Professional Performance document of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Consultant Dietitian for Northwestern University Athletics 2019-2021

  • Consultant Sports Dietitian for Gatorade and Gatorade Sports Science Institute 2015-present

  • Consultant Sports Dietitian for NBA G League

Linda is also the owner of a private practice for the past 15 years, focusing on elite and professional athletes.  Clients include top performing athletes from the NBA, NFL, WBC, UFC and collegiate athletes. Two sub-specialties include ultra-endurance athletes (Ironman), and combat sports including professional boxing and MMA.

Linda obtained her BS in Dietetics is from Andrews University and her MS in Dietetics from Mount Mary University.

Dana Norris, MS, RD, CSSD

Mentor, Social Media Manager

Dana is a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Dana is currently a Sports Dietitian at Eleat Sports Nutrition, where she works with athletes ranging from high school to the professional level, helping them improve performance with individualized nutrition. Dana previously worked as a Consultant Sports Dietitian at Northwestern University, where she consulted with individual athletes and teams.

Brittney Bearden, MEd, RD, CSSD, LD

Mentor

Brittney is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics with over 10 years experience in college and professional sports. Brittney started her career in college athletics as a Graduate Assistant Sports Dietitian at Auburn University and went on to be the Performance Dietitian at Indiana University. From there, Brittney was the Sports Nutrition Manager at Texas Health Sports Medicine where she worked with individual athletes and teams. During her time there, she worked with the Dallas Mavericks, FC Dallas, Dallas Wings, and Southern Methodist University. She has been a sports nutrition contributor on the Golf Channel as well as an adjunct professor for Sports Nutrition at the University of Texas at Arlington. 

Brittney currently works as a Senior Account Executive at Notemeal, which is the leading athlete performance nutrition platform. Brittney graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's in Nutritional Sciences and went on to obtain her Master's in Exercise Physiology at Auburn University. Brittney completed her dietetic internship with an emphasis in Medical Nutrition Therapy at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

Christine Jordhamo, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

Mentor

Christine is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics with nearly a decade of experience working with collegiate, professional, and tactical athletes. Christine's sports nutrition career started at Purdue University, followed by a move back to Chicago to support collegiate athletes as a Performance Nutrition Consultant for Northwestern University and the Chicago White Sox. Christine has served both as the White Sox MLB Team Dietitian and the Nutrition Coordinator to grow the MiLB nutrition program. In 2020, Christine accepted a position with the United States Military Academy where she is responsible for the nutrition education and counseling for the Corps of Cadets and the promotion of Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) concepts. This is Christine's second year as an E3 Mentor. Christine completed her undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University where she competed for the Women's Soccer program and subsequently completed her MS/DI in Clinical Nutrition at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She currently lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and children.

 

Christina Weidman, MS, RDN, CSSD, LDN

Mentor

Christina is a sports dietitian with almost a decade of experience working in collegiate athletics. She is currently the owner for her own private practice and an Advanced Clinical Dietitian for Northwestern Medicine helping to fuel Northwestern University student athletes. As a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, she is passionate about providing safe, effective, evidence-based nutrition services for health and athletic performance.

Christina currently specializes in eating disorders within sport, RED-S, and dietary supplement education. As part of her role with Northwestern University, Christina has helped to build the expansive dietary supplement review process to ensure adequate and appropriate education of athletes and staff on the ever-changing landscape of dietary supplements in athletics.

For fun, Christina loves to cook, have dance parties with her two kids, and listen to the Office Ladies podcast.
